How do I download the fxTrade for Android trading platform?

Visit the “Android Market” on your Android device and enter “OANDA fxTrade” in the search box. Click “Install” to download OANDA fxTrade for Android to your device.

How do I use the mobile trading platform?

To assist you with using fxTrade for Android, a Help menu is provided for every screen. Tap the Menu key on any screen to see the help.

How do I know which version of fxTrade for Android I am using?

Go to the login screen and check the version at the bottom of the screen.

Why can I not find fxTrade for Android in the Android Market?

Your mobile device's operating system may not support this application. The fxTrade for Android application is supported by Android Operating System 1.6 and above. The Android Market will not display applications which are not supported on your device.

Is fxTrade for Android free?

The fxTrade for Android application is free to fxTrade and fxTrade Practice users. However, the mobile application requires an internet connection,so when you run the application be aware you may incur additional data use and roaming charges from your mobile service.

I already have a trading account with OANDA. Do I need a separate account for my mobile device?

No separate account is required – the log in credentials you use to access the platform on the web are the same you use to log into fxTrade for Android. A registration form to sign up for fxTrade Practice is available from the log in screen.

Can I switch between my trading accounts on fxTrade for Android?

Yes. Tap the Accounts menu at the bottom of the main screen.

Are the rate settings that I configure on the mobile platform replicated in the fxTrade web platform?

No. Your preference quote lists are stored on the mobile device and not synchronized to the web platform. Likewise, the preferences made on the mobile device are not stored on the web platform.

What happens if I lose connection when I'm in the middle of placing a trade?

If you do not receive a confirmation screen, your trade probably did not execute. Tap the Trades menu to verify if your trade has executed. Mobile internet connections may not be available due to circumstances beyond our control, such as outages on your mobile's network or bad connections in regions with poor mobile coverage.

Are live charts available on fxTrade for Android?

Yes. A live candlestick chart is shown when you select a currency pair. If you don't see the chart for the selected pair, tap the icon at the bottom of the screen or drag this icon to show or hide the graph.

What kind of time period granularity is available?

You may choose a time period granularity from 5 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 1 hour or 1 day.

Which currency pairs appear on the default quote list on fxTrade for Android?

The default quote list includes the following currency pairs: AUD/JPY, AUD/USD, EUR/CHF, EUR/GBP, EUR/JPY, EUR/USD, GBP/JPY, GBP/USD, USD/CAD, USD/CHF, USD/JPY and XAU/USD.

How can I add more currency pairs to the quote list?

Tap the menu key and select “Edit Rate Quotes List” on the left hand side of the screen to add more currency pairs.

From the Rates screen, tap the menu key and select Edit Rate Quotes List.

What is the typical network data usage for using fxTrade for Android?

Data requirements vary depending on usage. Displaying the Rates screen with 5 pairs and a chart, results in 2.2MB sent and 2.8MB received for one minute of usage.

What types of orders are supported?

You can place Buy and Sell Limit Orders, Take Profits, Stop Losses, Trailing Stops and Lower and Upper Bounds.

How do I enter a limit order?

Tap the New Order icon from the main menu and enter the details for your trade.

Can orders be modified?

Yes. Tap the Orders icon from the main menu and tap the TP, SL and TS window next to the X to modify the details of your orders.

Indicators and trendlines are currently not available on fxTrade for Android.

You can modify your Limit Orders, Take Profits, Stop Losses, Trailing Stops and Lower and Upper Bounds.

Can I zoom in on the chart?

No. However, to see full screen mode, rotate your mobile device horizontally when the chart window is open.

Tap the Sign Out icon from the main menu located at the bottom right corner of the main screen.

Is an account summary available?

Yes. You can access your Balance, Realized P&L, Unrealized P&L, Margin Used and Margin Available from your fxTrade for Android app. To access the account summary, tap the Accounts icon located at the bottom left corner of the main screen.

How do I clear my user name and password?

Go to the main login screen and unclick “Remember Password”. The next time you log in, your credentials will not be displayed.

How is P&L displayed?

The P&L figures can be toggled to be displayed in Price or PIPS. Tap the cell to toggle the value.
